In my search for a new exhaust, I came upon a guy who's been selling Mugen clones. He says that they are built to the exact specifications of the Mugen twin-loop cat-back system.

Now since I can't find the RSR, I wonder if the Mugen clone would be the best best for a high flowing and quiet exhaust system. The clone is priced at $500.

    Tell me what you think.

I think I'd find a high flow muffler, and have somebody make a custom exhaust pipe from the cat back, and safe yourself $300

well the wrap around tube (that goes throught the muffler twice) supposingly acts as sound cancellation...like Mugen. It'd be interesting to see if those clones really work like Mugen's.

Okay, I know the thread is over a year old but I was searching around for info and ran across it, so I'll respond anyways.

I have a Mugen clone muffler on my GSR that is fantastic. I showed some minor power gains on the dyno with it even. It's quiet but has a nice tone without being too racy loud. It cost me 150 bucks and is IDENTICAL to the mugen on the outside. Internally it is identical also, but it is stainless instead of aluminum internally. This just means it weighs a few pounds more but will last a little longer.
